Arrows Defeat Carlow, 79-66, to Win Second Straight

Senior Dee Erazo had a career-high 33 points to go with a career-best 15 rebounds in Ursuline's 79-66 win over Carlow.

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio ­– Seniors Dee Erazo and Laura Campbell combined for 61 points and sophomore point guard Brianna Woods handed out a career-high 13 assists as part of a double-double effort in Ursuline’s 79-66 victory over Carlow.

Saturday’s win was the second straight for the Arrows as they bumped their record to 2-6 overall while Carlow dipped to 5-5.

Erazo set career-highs with 14 points and 10 rebounds in Tuesday’s win over Ohio Valley. At halftime on Saturday, she already had 21 points and seven boards. She finished the game with 33 points and 15 rebounds.

Campbell chipped in eight points in the first half but really came alive in the second period when she hit six of her 11 shots, including four of six three-point attempts, on her way to 28 points. She had 20 points in the second period alone while Woods controlled the pace. Ursuline’s lead guard had nine of her 11 points and six assists in the second half and did not turn the basketball over once.

Shannon Sword’s team had just five healthy bodies in uniform on Saturday. Junior Natalie Cook played much of the game with four fouls and still finished with four points, a career-high six assists and seven rebounds.

Freshman Autumn Jones had seven points and six rebounds to go with three steals, all of which were new career-highs.

Jessalyn Timko led the Celtics with 18 points while Lynzi Mueller chipped in 15.

After shooting a blistering 80 percent (12-15) from behind the arc on Tuesday, the Arrows stayed hot with seven of 12 (58.3 percent) three-point shooting on Saturday. Ursuline won the battle of the boards, 38-29, but lost the turnover battle, 14-12.

After playing just two of their first eight games at home, the Arrows have two more home games on the docket before Christmas.
