Malone tops Ursuline in three games on Tuesday evening

Malone University (11-6, 1-1) came to Pepper Pike, Ohio on Tuesday evening and left with a 3-0 victory of the Ursuline College (4-7, 1-4) volleyball team. The Arrows played strong dropping the match in three very close games 25-15, 25-19, 25-19. All three games remained close until the end when Malone was able to close out the games with small point runs.

Lead Ursuline was Jasmine Comstock, who recorded a match-high 12 kills, while Kelley Plas totaled a match-high 23 assists. The players reached double-digit digs as the defense was impressive, led by Alex Leister and Kelly Stenger - who each had 12 digs. Megan Bus chipped in 11 digs.

The only major difference in the box score was service aces, as Malone totaled 11 to just three for Ursuline. Otherwise the box score was pretty balanced as the games remained close.

Ursuline will now travel and play its next five matches on the road, starting at Carlow on October 5, and then a weekend Invitational at Malone where the Arrows will face Bluefield (Va.), Rio Grande (Ohio), Ashford (Iowa), and Shawnee State. The Invitational will run on October 7 and 8.
