Game: Ursuline vs Ohio Dominican

Location: Somewhere outside Columbus, Ohio

What's on the Ipod: An odd mix of John Legend, Hall and Oates, and Lykke Li

Tonight the Arrows finished a 4-game road trip that saw the team play three times in the last four days, taking on ODU, an NCAA D-2 school in Columbus. Coming into the game I was very interested to see what kind of energy the Arrows would have on the court tonight. The Arrows had plenty of energy, but still lost, mainly due to some mistakes. Every-time ODU went ahead the Arrows fought back, but Ursuline shot itself in the foot late in the game and the Panthers were able to capitalize.

So the Arrows stand at 1-3, but had a couple of chances to have a better record. Talent alone doesn't win in this sport, basketball is a game that you have to play smarter than your opponent and right now the Arrows are not doing that.

It's been a long week and I've overheard a few of the players say how happy they will be to be home on Tuesday. Personally I've had two actual days off from work in the last month, so I'm not only going to be happy to be back in Pepper Pike Tuesday, but I'm going to be even more happy when that's over and I can take a long weekend off for Thanksgiving.

Happy belated birthday to head coach Nelson Schorr. I'll save him the embarrassment of announcing his age to the rest of the world, but coach celebrated his birthday on Friday.

Coach Schorr was nice enough to talk to me for a few minutes on the bus ride to Columbus about the first few games, getting that first win against Geneva and the difference in competition among opponents.
