Catherine Rook joined Ursuline College as the Head Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2005. She is a certified American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor as well as a Red Cross Professional Rescuer. Rook is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and received her National Certification and Ohio Licensure in 1997.
She graduated from then-Mount Union College and earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio University in 1998. Rook started as a student athletic trainer while an undergraduate at Mount Union and later became a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Oak Hill High School (Ohio) while attending graduate school. She also served a summer internship with the University at Buffalo Sports Medicine Institute.
After earning her Master’s, Rook worked in an outpatient physical therapy setting and provided athletic training coverage to Michigan Lutheran Seminary High School while at Saginaw Valley Sport and Spine.
She returned to collegiate athletics when she became the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Division II Northwood University (Michigan) in 1999, a place where she served until 2005. While at Northwood University, Rook was also a CI (Clinical Instructor), which involved supervising and instructing athletic training students from Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University.
A native of Newfane, New York, she currently resides in Parma, Ohio with her husband Shaun and two children, Casey and Brayden.
