The Ursuline College athletic department has announced the addition of Carmen Ptacek as their new Assistant Soccer Coach.
Ptacek joins the Arrows with 29 years of soccer coaching experience, her most recent being the Head Hudson Middle School Coach since 2018. Carmen simultaneously coached travel at Cleveland Futbol Club from 2017-2021.
Prior to her Middle School role, she was the Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Hathaway Brown High School from 2012-2018. Carmen led the program to three State Championships and one State Runner-Up, including six Final-Four appearances and the 2017 season Division I Regional Finalist.
A two-year collegiate athlete at Ohio State, Carmen was the varsity leading scorer in a single season before transferring to Akron University. She continued her playing career professionally for the Cleveland Eclipse – a member of the W-league.
Over the course of her coaching career, Carmen has accumulated many accomplishments, including coaching 5 State Championship Teams,1 State Runner-Up, 11 Final-Four State Semi-Finalist Appearances, 17 District Championships, 8 High School All-Americans and numerous All-State Players. She is one of the Winningest Coaches in OHSAA Girls Soccer History.
