Jim Snow Inducted Into MIGCA Hall of Fame

Ursuline College Head Golf Coach, Jim Snow, has been inducted into the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The MIGCA Hall of Fame Ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 6th.

The MIGCA supports golf coaches, promotes the sport, and encourages understanding of USGA rules. Induction recognizes coaches who have had outstanding careers, shown dedication and sportsmanship, contributed to the growth of the game, and made a positive impact on their players and communities.

Jim was awarded this honor for his time with Powers Catholic High School in Michigan where he had success both in the boys and girls golf programs.

Under Snow's leadership from 1994 through 2013, he had three state championship boys teams and three state championship girls teams. The girls were varsity state runner-ups in 2007, 2011 and 2019.

He helped the program win 12 out of 17 Regional Championships including the last four in a row. Snow was named the Michigan High School Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2019 and was nominated for the National Coach of the Year both times. He was named the Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame Coach of the Year in 2019.

During his 17 years in Michigan, his teams finished top five in the state finals 12 times and only missed qualifying for the finals three times.

Snow was inducted into the Hall of Fame class alongside Tom Brecht of Orchard Lake St. Mary's and Bloomfield Hills Marian, Jim Hornyak of Traverse City St. Francis, and Tom Johnson of Gaylord. (Pictured below)
