Softball Wins Two of Four in Florida

TUESDAY, MARCH 12th
URSULINE VS. HANNIBAL LA-GRANGE
SCORES:  Arrows – 13, Trojans – 3
 
HIGHLIGHTS:
  • UC kicked off scoring in the second inning on a double from Dalton to send Bogden home. The trojans followed in the bottom of the inning with two runs of their own to take the lead.
  • The Arrows answered the very next inning when E. Vallejo tripled to right field to set off a four point run. Dalton scored on the hit and Vallejo scored the next play on a hit from Bogden.
  • Seay stepped up with a double to send in Bogden running home. An error by the Trojans' centerfielder put Dalton on base after and had Jaden scoring the Arrows fifth run of the game.
  • A single from Barton in the fourth sent Herrera to bring the score to 6-2. The Trojans put one more run in before Arrows lit up the fifth inning.
  • With bases loaded, Barton doubled to send all three Arrows home. Vallejo followed up with a single to have Barton running home. Mohr and Vallejo scored the final two runs of the game off singles from Bogden and Seay to cap off the win.

  • Casey Barton also went 2 for 4 at bat with 4 RBI's. She had 3 total put outs.
  • Bridget Bogden had three runs on three at bats and tallied 2 RBI's.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • After Felician won the first double header game 1-0, they rolled with their momentum to score three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
  • The Arrows returned to bat in the second with a vengeance. With Bogden on first, she ran all the way home off a single to right center from Dalton. Vallejo and Horgan both walked to have the bases loaded.
  • On Herrera's single, both Dalton and Vallejo scored to tally 2 RBI's. A quick pitching change from the Falcons had the Arrows facing a new arm and Mohr responded with a single to pocket 2 RBI's of her own from Herrera and Horgan.
  • Bogden would add in one more unearned run off a single from Vallejo to lock in the victory.

  • Jovanna Herrera went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and one hit. She also tallied 3 put outs.
  • Spenser Mohr also went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's, had two put outs and 1 assist while catching.

UP NEXT:
  • The Arrows take on Post University on Friday in their final double-header of the weekend at 10 AM and 12 PM.
