Pepper Pike, OH – Ursuline College Soccer adds nine new athletes to their 2022 roster; Alexis Ivory (Hilliard, OH), Avory Murray (Chesterfield, Michigan), Amia Wilson (Miamisburg, OH), Katharina Hack (Finning, Germany), Alejandra Gonzales (Newmarket, Ontario), Sophia Beverly (Trenton, OH), Maiara Windszus Pessanha (Hamburg, Germany), Gabby Merda (North Canton, OH), and Charlise Hernandez- Abraham (Bolton, Ontario).
Alexis Ivory (Hilliard, OH)
Alexis joins the Arrows as an Ohio native. A forward from Hilliard Davidson High School, she was a part of the Honor roll, Academic letter and graduated Cum Luade. Alexis will be studying Nursing here at Ursuline College. She is an only child and her favorite TV show is The Walking Dead!

"I chose Ursuline because of its great nursing program and smaller class sizes. Having a small student to teacher ratio is perfect for me. I also chose Ursuline because of how welcoming the soccer team was when I met them."
Avory Murray (Chesterfield, Michigan)
Avory is a Goalkeeper from Anchor Bay High School in Michigan. Throughout her high school career, Avory was named All-District and All-Academic Team and was awarded the Scholar Athlete Award. Her team was District Champions in back-to-back years, Regional Finalists, MAC Red Champions and State Cup finalists. Avory was a member of the National Honors Society and Honors Academy and received the 4
th year Academic Award. This Magna Cum Laude graduate plans to study Education while at Ursuline.

"I chose Ursuline because of the small campus size and the friendly atmosphere. When I visited campus, everyone was so welcoming and I felt right at home. Ursuline also has a 4+1 program for Education and that is perfect for what I want to do!"
Amia Wilson (Miamisburg, OH / Miamisburg High School)
Amia joins the Arrows from Miamisburg High School where she was on the Honor Roll and earned the Scholar Athlete Award. She plans to study Nursing here at Ursuline College. On the field, Amia excels as a Forward. Fun fact, she has a twin sister!

Katharina Hack (Finning, Germany)
Katharina joins the Arrows all the way from Germany. She is a left back defender and plans to study Biology during her time at Ursuline College. Fun fact, Katharina says "despite being the shortest on my team" she would play Goalkeeper sometimes!

Her best friend is here and has a great relationship with the coach in addition to Ursuline being in a great location!
Alejandra Gonzales (Newmarket, Ontario)
Another Arrow joining us from out of the country is Alejandra Gonzales, a midfielder from Canada. While at Sacred Heart Catholic High School, she was a member of the Honor Roll for all four years. Alejandra will be studying Nursing during her collegiate career. She was born in Peru and has three brothers!

"I choose Ursuline College because of the tight knit community and family feel. I have been given the opportunity to play collegiate soccer as well as be a part of the prestigious Nursing program."
Sophia Beverly (Trenton, OH)
Sophia is no stranger to Ohio soccer, this Midfielder was named First Team All-Conference this past season. While at Edgewood High School, she was a member of the National Honors Society and graduated with an Honors Diploma. Sophia will be part of the Education program here at Ursuline. While away from home, she will miss her dog named Wookie!

Maiara Windszus Pessanha (Hamburg, Germany)
Our second addition from Germany to this 2022 roster is Maiara from Hamburg! This Midfielder was part of the All-Star state team in 2019-20 and 2021-22. She competed in the highest youth level of Germany and was a state champion with her U17 team. Maiara plans to study Psychology here at Ursuline. She is a twin sister and has an older brother as well!
Why Ursuline?
"I've always dreamed about playing soccer while studying psychology in the U.S. Besides that I also wanted to have intercultural experiences and developing myself athletically, academically as well as intellectually. Searching for the best way to combine those aspects I got in contact with coach Jason. He showed me what Ursuline can offer me and I'm convinced that Ursuline is the right fit for me."
Gabby Merda (North Canton, OH)
Gabby joins the Arrows from Hoover High School where she shined as a Goalkeeper. During her high school career she received Second Team All Federal League, Division 1 All-Stark County, All Star Preps Best Of Stark, Youngstown District Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association All District First Team, Second Team All-Stark County and MVP Defense. After receiving four years of academic award, Gabby plans to study Criminal Justice at Ursuline. Fun fact, Gabby has played soccer since she was just 4 years old and is now a proud mother to three fish!

Charlise Hernandez- Abraham (Bolton, Ontario)
Charlise, a center back defender from Canada, joins the Arrows roster this season! She attended Bill Crothers High school in Bolton, Ontario and was on Honor Roll during her academic studies. Charlise will be majoring in Psychology while at Ursuline College.
