The Ursuline College softball team competed in the GMAC Championships this weekend in Findlay, OH where they came in as the sixth seed. The Arrows played three games over the course of three days, losing the first versus Findlay, winning the second versus Tiffin and falling in the third versus Ohio Dominican.

In game one of the weekend versus Findlay, the Arrows fell 0-4.
Sara Fessler and
Kristin Kopp batted Ursuline's two hits for the game but the Arrows were unable to add runs to the board despite their efforts. Fessler lead the way defensively with four put out's and three assists while
Kat Ferretti added in four as well to contribute to the team's 18 total.
Tara Backherms saw the most time in the circle, pitching three innings and allowing four hits, one run and three walks.
Ashlee Zientek stepped in and allowed three hits and three runs on three errors before
Tara Backherms finished off the game with two hits while striking out two.

After multiple rain delays, the Arrows competed in game two on Saturday versus Tiffin where they won 7-1. After both teams were scoreless for the first three innings, Fessler hit a double with bases loaded in the fourth to send Ferretti and Rawlings running home to start the Arrow's scoring. Tiffin followed up with a home run before UC went on a scoring run in the sixth inning. Once again with bases loaded, Fessler singled to send Maty Michalski for an unearned run. Gallagher stepped up to the plate with bases fully loaded and on the first pitch, hit a home run to earn four RBI's. This locked in the Arrows 7-1 win. Rawlings picked up the win tallying eight strikeouts with just five hits and one run.

The win against Tiffin sent the Arrows into their third game of the GMAC tournament where they faced off against number two seed Ohio Dominican. Fields lead the way offensively with one hit, one run and one RBI while Gallagher and Kopp added in the Arrows two additional RBI's with Fessler and Zientek scoring the two runs. Defensively, Baratta had eight put outs for UC while
Devan Peterson had four of her own. Despite their fight, the Arrows were unable to pull out the win. They ended their season and playoff run on the 5-3 loss to the Ohio Dominican Panthers.

Six Arrows were named GMAC All-Conference.
Sara Fessler was awarded First Team All-Conference Short Stop. On Second Team All-Conference was
Alyssa Baratta at First Base,
Kristin Kopp as Designated Player and
Tara Backherms as Utility-Pitcher. On Third Team All-Conference was
Nicole Rawlings as Pitcher and
Kiley Gallagher in the Outfield. The Arrows finished their season 14-25 overall and 11-11 in regular season conference play.
