The Ursuline College softball team competed against the University of Tampa on Sunday afternoon and split the double-header, 1-1. The Arrows had a strong 6-2 win in game one and the Spartans followed up with a six-point win of their own in game two, 6-0. 

In game one, the Arrows spark started in the top of the third where they tallied three runs. Alyssa Baratta singled to left field as Sarah Fessler and Jaqi Vallejo notched the first two runs for Ursuline. Shortly after, a Maddie Fields single, Alyssa Baratta crosses home plate to make the score, 3-0.

In the bottom of the third, the Spartans had three hits and one run scored to try to spark their own run. Yet, it was not enough to hold the Arrows who jumped out to a 5-1 lead by the end of the 4th inning. The Spartans scored once more in the bottom of the 6th to make the score 5-2. The Arrows finished strong and scored once more in the top of the 7th inning while holding the Spartans scoreless in the bottom. The Arrows ended on top with a 6-2 victory over the Spartans.  

It was the tail of two games for their second match-up with the University of Tampa. The Spartans jumped out to a quick 4-0 start by the end of the 4th inning. Ursuline recorded two hits during the game, both by senior Savannah Hicks, but that wasn't enough to hold off the Spartans. Tampa went on to score two more times by the end of the matchup to finish the game, 6-0.  

Ursuline will travel to Rosemont, Illinois Thursday, Feb. 24th at 5:30 pm to take on Parkside at the Rosemont Dome.
