The Ursuline College softball team dropped a 4-3 decision to Chestnut Hill College in the opening game of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in North Myrtle Beach.

The Griffins grabbed a 2-0 lead headed into the top of the fourth inning when the Arrows got on the board.

Leah Leshnack picked up a one-out single through the left side of the infield and moved to second on a base hit from senior
Karlie Wilbur. Freshman
Adriana Nicpon reached on an error that allowed Leshnack to score and make it 2-1 in favor of Chestnut Hill.

Trailing 3-1 in the fifth inning, senior
Sadie Jones singled with one out and moved to second on a passed ball. Freshman
Nicole Rawlings delivered an RBI single up the middle to score jones and make it 3-2.

Ursuline continued its rally in the sixth inning to tie the game after freshman
Ashley Buttolph connected on a double down the left field line to score senior
Alison Hughes who reached on a base hit earlier in the frame.

After neither team scored in the seventh inning, Chestnut Hill turned a leadoff walk into the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Wilbur finished the game 3-for-4 to lead the offense for Ursuline that finished with nine hits.

Miller took the tough luck loss after tossing 7 1/3 innings while striking out a career-high 13 batters and allowing four runs on seven hits.
