The Ursuline College softball team closed a two-week trip in Florida with a come from behind 8-5 win over Salem International University on Wednesday afternoon.

The Arrows fell behind 3-0 after the top of the first inning before getting on the board after a base hit from junior Allison Hughes to make it 3-1. The Tigers added two runs in the bottom of the second inning and held a 5-1 lead.

Ursuline took advantage of a miscue in the field on a bunt from senior
Brigitte Snow that scored junior
Leah Leshnack and the error also allowed Snow to score on the play to make it 5-3.

After adding an unearned run in the fourth inning, sophomore
Brooklyn Miller plugged a cap in right center field with a triple to tie the game 5-5.

In the seventh, with the game still tied, senior
Gina Rosshirt drove a ball to the left-center gap with two runners on to score a pair of runs and give the Arrows their first lead at 7-5. Senior
Briana Benge reached on an infield single to add another run.

Miller picked up the win with 5 2/3 innings of shutout relief work while striking out seven batters and allowing five hits.

Ursuline will return home and start to prepare for G-MAC play at home next weekend against Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins.
