The Ursuline College soccer team won its third match in a row overall and fourth in a row at home as they defeated Malone 2-1 on Thursday afternoon.

Malone took the lead with 14 minutes remaining in the first half on a throw in from Kaela Kovanda found Kassidy Hannum who put it in the back of the net to make it 1-0.

The Pioneers held the lead until a foul in the 69
th minute led to a free kick for Ursuline that junior
Haley Knox put in just over the hands of the Malone goalkeeper to tie the match 1-1.

Later in the half, in the 74
th minute, sophomore
Brooke Mahabir followed a shot by senior
Steph Chlad with a header to find the back of the net and put Ursuline in front 2-1.

Ursuline outshot Malone 9-7 in the game including 5-2 on goal while the Arrows had six corner kicks and the Pioneers did not attempt a corner.

Gina Cerny notched two saves in the win for the Arrows.

Ursuline will host Walsh University on Saturday at 3:00 PM. The Cavaliers will enter play 5-0 in the G-MAC and 8-0 on the season and currently sit a half game back of first place Ohio Valley in the conference.Â
