Snow's Three Home Runs Leads to Win Over First Place Cedarville

The Ursuline College softball team earned a split against first place Cedarville on Tuesday afternoon by winning game one 8-3 and falling in game two 8-0.

The Arrows fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning but got a run back in the home half of the second inning when redshirt junior Brigitte Snow hit her first home run, a solo shot, over the left center field fence to make it 2-1.

Senior Mackenzie Lebeda started the third inning with a base hit to left field and junior Rosie Lyard doubled to left center to score pinch runner Rachel Fletcher to tie the game 2-2. Junior Gina Rosshirt singled and Snow once again delivered a long ball, this time a two-run run shot to cap a four-run inning to put Ursuline ahead 5-2.

Sophomore Sadie Jones doubled to start the bottom of the fifth inning and Snow followed with her third home run of the game to extend the lead to 7-2 after five innings.
Snow finished the game 3-for-4 with five RBI while Lebeda also added a pair of hits.

Freshman Brooklyn Miller picked up her first-career win with three innings of scoreless relief while allowing two hits and striking out one. Rosshirt also worked two scoreless frames while striking out two and senior Brittany Humbel struck out the side in the seventh.

Cedarville took game two 8-0 with all eight runs coming in the fifth inning.

The two teams will conclude their season on Wednesday afternoon starting at 3:00 PM.
