Game Notes

The Ursuline College soccer team will kick off the 2016 season at home on Thursday, September 1 when they host West Liberty University at 4:00 PM.
 
The Arrows return 15 players from the 2015 team that went 10-7-3 and fell in the G-MAC Championship game to Cedarville. Ursuline was picked second in the 2016 Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour.
 
Ursuline returns a talented senior class including goalkeeper Helen Jazzar who has emerged as one of the top keepers in the G-MAC during the last three seasons. In 12 games last season, Jazzar allowed 1.15 goals per game and had a .782 save percentage.
 
Offensively, the Arrows will look to senior Cassie Cripe to build on a balanced junior campaign. Cripe was second on the team in goals scored with 10 and also had 10 assists to total 30 points on the year. Cripe was named to the G-MAC's All-Conference First Team for her efforts.
 
The talented freshman class will feature eight newcomers and a transfer student that are all expected to contribute during their first season.
 
West Liberty finished last season 3-7-6 in the Mountain East conference. The Hilltoppers had the most ties in the league and were picked fifth in the pre-season coaches poll.
 
Following Thursday's contest, Ursuline will travel to Tiffin University to take on the Dragons with a 1:00 PM start time. The Arrows return home on September 8 to open conference play against Davis & Elkins.
