The Ursuline College softball team split a Sunday afternoon double header with visiting Davis & Elkins. The Senators won game one 1-0 in eight innings and the Arrows won game two 4-3.

The win in game two gives the Arrows the number five seed in the Great Midwest Athletic Tournament that will take place starting Thursday in Xenia, Ohio.

Game one was a pitching battle that saw the Arrows go hitless until the fifth inning. Freshman
Sadie Jones broke up a no-hitter with a base hit to left field but the Arrows would strand runners on the corners.

The Senators used back-to-back doubles in the top of the eighth inning to push across the games only run.

Rosshirt (6-13) took the loss despite allowing just one run on eight hits over eight innings of work. She struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Game two saw the Senators get out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Ursuline got a run back in the second inning after freshman
Hannah Trent singled with one out. Junior
Kaitlin Krajcik drove in a run with a base hit to right field to make it 2-1.

Kaitlin Huffman homered in the top of the fourth inning to push the Senators lead back to 3-1.

The Arrows once again answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning after Trent started the inning with a walk and stole second base to move into scoring position. Junior
Gina Rosshirt singled to left field and the Arrows had runners on the corners with one out. Krajcik once again delivered a clutch base hit to make it 3-2.

In the fourth inning, Trent once again picked up a big base hit to tie the game 3-3.

With the game still tied in the bottom of the sixth, senior
Alison Porter singled with one out and moved to second on a fielders' choice. Junior
Brigitte Snow singled to put two runners on and sophomore
Leah Leshnack blooped a single to right field to score the go ahead run.

Rosshirt retired the Senators in order in the top of the seventh to preserve the win. She allowed one run on four hits over six innings of work.
The G-MAC tournamentw will begin on Thursday in Xenia, Ohio. Ursuline will play Kentucky Wesleyan at 10:30 AM. The two teams did not meet in the regular season.
