First-Place Arrows Earn Big Road Win at Alderson Broaddus

The Arrows and Battlers played a scoreless 43 minutes before storms moved into the area causing a weather delay with 1:59 to play in the first half.

Following the delay, in the 67th minute, freshman Chiara Baker delievered a pass to junior Steph Chlad who connected from the left side for her fifth goal of the season to put the Arrows in front 1-0.

After the goal, a power outage in the stadium delayed the remaining 10 minutes of the game but following the delay the Arrows were able to hold onto the 1-0 lead.

Ursuline outshot Alderson Broaddus 18-4 in the game including 8-0 in the second half in their 11th win of the season. The Arrows have accumulated 28 points and hold a one point lead over Trevecca with two games to play.

The win does secure at least a first-round bye in the G-MAC Tournament that begins next week.

The Arrows will remain in West Virginia as they travel to Elkins on Saturday to play the Senators. Ursuline won the earlier meeting between the two teams 2-1 in Pepper Pike.
