Box Score The Ursuline College soccer won its fifth straight Great Midwest Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon with a 1-0 win over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan College. The Arrows improve to 6-1 on the season and 5-0 in the G-MAC.
Ursuline controlled the tempo on both ends of the field in the first half and for the second straight game had a goal come in odd fashion. Senior Vanessa Consiglio's kick from the corner rattled around and found the back of the net in the 21st minute to give the Arrows a 1-0 advantage. The Blue and Gold attempted 13 shots in the first half compared to just three for Kentucky Wesleyan.
Consiglio's goal moved her past Paige Rowan into first all-time on the points list at Ursuline with 114. She is also 11 goals shy of becoming the all-time leading goal scorer for the Arrows as well.
The Arrows continued to get numerous good looks at the goal in the first half but Panthers goalkeeper Kathryn Dishion allowed just the one goal.
Ursuline goalkeeper Helen Jazzar registered her her fourth shut out of the season and picked up four saves.
The Arrows remain home on Saturday afternoon for Alumnae Day when they host Trevecca Nazarene in a re-match of last year's conference championship game. The match will kick off at 1:00pm and can be heard live on the UC Sports Network and live stats will also be provided.
