Box Score The Ursuline College soccer team picked up its fourth straight G-MAC victory with a 1-0 win over a tough Alderson Broaddus squad on Saturday afternoon in Pepper Pike.
The Arrows (5-1, 4-0 G-MAC) had just two shots on goal in the first half as the Battlers defense came out with pressure early on. Ursuline's defense responded with a strong first half of their own as Alderson Broaddus also only had two shots in the first half.
The two teams went to the half scoreless.
In the second half, the offense picked up for both teams but the goalkeepers held strong until the 47th minute when a misplayed ball by Alderson Broaddus resulted in a goal by Ursuline sophomore Steph Chlad on an assist from senior Vanessa Consiglio.
The Battlers would have a couple of chances late in the game to try to tie by junior goalkeeper Helen Jazzer was able to preserve the shutout.
Ursuline outshot Alderson Broaddus 13-9 in the game. Jazzer registered six saves for the Arrows while her counterpart Taylor Garica had nine saves.
The Arrows remain home on Thursday afternoon when they will host Kentucky Wesleyan at 4:00pm. Live audio and stats will be provided at www.ursulinearrows.com
