Box Score The Ursuline Arrows soccer team finished off a successful trip to West Virginia this week with a 7-0 win over Ohio Valley University on Saturday afternoon in Vienna, West Virginia.
Ursuline (3-1, 2-0) got their offense going in the 16th minute when freshman Andie Widmer found the back of the net with her second goal of the season that was set up by junior Cassie Cripe. The Arrows would get their second goal of the game about 12 minutes later when senior Vanessa Consiglio picked up her fifth goal of the season on a free kick that made it 2-0. Consiglio added another goal on an assist from freshman Aline Czaplicki to make it 3-0.
Not even a minute later, Consiglio found Cripe who notched her second goal of the season to put the Arrows in front 4-0. Consiglio added her second assist when she connected with sophomore Steph Chlad to make it 5-0 still in the first half. Junior McKenzie O'Brien added a goal to close out the first half and accounted for Arrows only goal of the second half on an assist by freshman Haley Knox.
Ursuline outshot Ohio Valley 31-7 in the game and in the last two games the Arrows have outshot their opponents 77-7.
Junior goalkeeper Helen Jazzar played the first half and did not register a save. Freshman keeper Sam Hudson played the second half and picked up one save.
The Arrows will return home on Thursday, September 17 to take on Davis & Elkins in a big early season test for both teams. Davis & Ekins defeated Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene this week. The match will begin at 4:00pm and can be heard live on the Ursuline Sports Network.
