The Ursuline College soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback on the road last night at Alderson Broaddus University. The loss was the first for the Arrows in the G-MAC since October 25, 2014 when they fell to Trevecca Nazarene. 

The Battlers (5-7, 4-4 G-MAC) jumped out early in the contest when Lauren Small connected on her sixth goal of the season in the 14th minute to put Alderson Broaddus in front 2-0. Later in the half, Small connected with Brittany Minor who found the back of the net to put the Battlers in front 2-0 at the intermission. 

Ursuline (7-2-1, 6-1-1 G-MAC) attempted to rally late in the contest when senior Vanessa Consiglio scored her team-leading eighth goal on an assist from sophomore Emily Justus in the 68th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. 

The Arrows and Battlers both attempted 10 shots a piece on the night. Alderson Broaddus goalkeeper Taylor Garcia notched three saves while junior Helen Jazzar had two for Ursuline. 

Ursuline will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Elkins, West Virginia to take on Davis & Elkins. The match will begin at Noon and you can follow along with live stats.
