Box Score The Ursuline College soccer team earned a much-needed 1-1 tie on the road at a rainy Cedarville on Tuesday night. The win for the Arrows secures the number three seed and a home game against Alderson Broaddus on Saturday at Noon.
Cedarville (10-4-4, 7-3-4) jumped out to an early lead in the fifth minute on a goal by Olivia Moore to make it 1-0. The Arrows (9-6-2, 8-4-2)-answered back less than a minute later when junior Cassie Cripe took a cross from senior Vanessa Consiglio to tie the game 1-1 just six minutes in.
The two defenses took over at that point but the Ursuline offense stayed agressive as they attempted 20 shots, 10 of wihch were on goal compared to just 12 for Cedarville, five of which were on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Sam Hudson made four saves while her counterpart Hanna Harris had nine for the Yellow Jackets.
Ursuline will hosts Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon at Noon. The Arrows and Battlers split their season series with Ursuline winning 1-0 in the game played in Pepper Pike. The winner will advance to play #2 Kentucky Wesleyan at Davis & Elkins on Thursday, November 5.
