PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – All three of Ursuline College's starting forwards scored as the Arrows won their home opener, 3-0, over West Liberty University on Tuesday (Sep. 9) evening.

The Arrows, who have defeated the Hilltoppers in each of the last three seasons, are now 2-1 overall while West Liberty dipped to 0-1-1.

Redshirt freshman Taylor Dackin scored the only goal of the first half at the 35:02 mark off a beautiful pass from junior Vanessa Consiglio. Just 2:47 into the second period, Dackin returned the favor and set up Consiglio for her second goal of the young year.

Senior Paige Rowan, who had four career goals in two prior matches against WLU, put the match out of reach with her third goal of the season in the 77th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Helen Jazzar made some big stops, especially in the first half, on her way to picking up her first shutout of the season. Last year as a rookie, she went the distance in two blankings and started the other two shutouts that were officially credited to the team. Jazzar made five stops on Tuesday, the same number as West Liberty's Allie Warsaw.

UC took 14 shots, 10 of which came in the final 45 minutes, while West Liberty had nine total shots with just one shot mustered in the second period.

The Arrows play again on Thursday (Sep. 11) at 4:00 p.m. against Walsh University in that will be the final tune-up before conference play begins next week. Thursday's match – and all home matches – will be covered with free live audio on the Ursuline College Sports Network.

These two teams played last year in North Canton and tied, 1-1.
