PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Senior forward Paige Rowan scored two goals, both off assists from junior Vanessa Consiglio, as the Arrows beat Cedarville University 2-0 in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest on Saturday (Sep. 27) afternoon.

Ursuline is now 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets are now 4-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Rowan scored her first goal (seventh of the season) with exactly 14:00 remaining in the first half. With 3:11 to go in the opening period, Consiglio lofted a corner kick that was right on point and Rowan headed it home to widen the gap.

The two assists made Consiglio the program's all-time leader in assists with 21, passing Ursuline College Hall of Famers Molly McPherson and Jen Risch. Rowan's two goals give her 40 in her career, tying her with Risch for the third most ever by an Arrow.

Ursuline had three shots that hit either the post or the crossbar in the second half and Cedarville had all of its chances turned away by sophomore goalkeeper Helen Jazzar. The Ottawa native made seven saves to pick up her third shutout of the year.

Cedarville's Hanna Harris made three saves before exiting in the 70th minute due to injury. Christine Faulds played the last 20:40 in goal and made one stop. CU's Jacoby Ziegler, who has missed time with a recent injury, sent four shots on goal Saturday in her return to the pitch.

Ursuline will host Salem International University on Thursday (Oct. 2) at 3:30 p.m. That match can be heard on the Ursuline College Sports Network.

Last year, the Arrows beat the Tigers by a score of 4-0 in Bridgeport, W. Va. The year prior, UC topped SIU 6-1 in Pepper Pike. In 2011, when the current seniors were freshmen, Ursuline prevailed 6-0.
