The Arrows will host second-seeded Trevecca University at noon on Saturday (Nov. 8). The Trojans took care of sixth-seeded Alderson Broaddus University, 3-0, in Thursday's first semifinal.
Ursuline took control early in Thursday's match with a goal by redshirt freshman Taylor Dackin at 10:19. Junior Vanessa Consiglio, the nation's leader in assists, dribbled up the left side and crossed the ball to the middle where Dackin slid it past KWC goalkeeper Kathryn Dishion. It was Dackin's fifth goal of the year.
That stood up as the only strike until junior Giuliana Pugliese lofted a ball from left of the box to the far right corner of the goal. Pugliese's lob went over the outstretched arms of Dishion and into the back of the net to widen UC's lead to 2-0. Consiglio was credited with an assist on that goal, too.
The Panthers were never able to solve UC sophomore goalkeeper Helen Jazzar, a two-time first team all-conference performer. Ursuline's stifling defense limited KWC to just eight shots in the match while the offense blasted 15.
Jazzar was credited with five saves, one more than her counterpart Dishion.
Ursuline will head into Saturday with a record of 14-4 overall while KWC concludes its season at 10-7-1.
