NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Ursuline College soccer team fell behind two goals to host Trevecca Nazarene University and the Arrows were never able to climb their way out of the hole in Saturday's (Sep. 21) 2-1 loss to the Trojans.

Ursuline now sits at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while TNU duplicated UC's record – both overall and in the conference – with Saturday's victory. The Trojans have had Ursuline's number in all three meetings since the two programs started playing as members of the G-MAC a season ago.

It was Alex Hammond who put the Trojans up 1-0 with her first goal of the season at the 38:14 mark after she buried a shot from 10 yards out into the left corner of the goal. Becky Bartos scored just over five minutes into the second period and her third goal of the 2013 campaign, which came off an assist from Anna Hoffman, provided TNU with some breathing room.

The Arrows cut the deficit in half in the 74th minute on freshman McKenzie O'Brien's first collegiate goal. She took a ball from junior Paige Rowan and put it in the right corner of the net to make it a 2-1 game but the Arrows couldn't score the equalizer in the final 16 minutes.

TNU's Ashley Allison faced 10 shots total and was forced to make three saves in the victory. On the flipside, Ursuline's freshman goalkeeper Helen Jazzar allowed the two goals but was also credited with five saves. It's the third time in six matches that the rookie keeper has made at least five stops.

Ursuline will finish its three-game southern swing with a 4:00 p.m. match on Monday (Sep. 23) at Wheeling Jesuit University.
