PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Junior Paige Rowan, the two-time reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference 'Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week,' put Ursuline College on top 1-0 but the Arrows couldn't hold on for a victory in Tuesday's (Sep. 17) match. The guests from the University of Findlay rallied for three goals to take the non-conference match by a final score of 3-1.

With the loss, the Arrows slid to 2-2 overall while the Oilers jumped to 3-1 with the lone loss coming to Tennessee Tech University, a Division I institution.

Rowan took a pass from sophomore Vanessa Consiglio and beat Findlay goalkeeper Kelsea Corns to give the Arrows a 1-0 advantage just 37:05 into the match. The goal marked the fourth time in the last two matches that the duo connected for an Ursuline goal.

That lead, however, would be short-lived.

Findlay evened things up on a Kristin Elliott goal off a Katie Burke assist at 39:16 and then Kendall Kwiatowski scored on an assist from Eryn Weber at 53:05 to give the Oilers a lead they would never relinquish.

Danielle Hart tacked on an insurance goal in the 57th minute when she scored her first goal of the season off another Burke assist. Off a corner kick, Hart emerged from the scrum to poke it past UC's freshman goalkeeper Helen Jazzar who was excellent in defeat with five saves.

The Arrows almost made things really interesting late in the match when Consiglio dribbled around the back line and went one-on-one with Corns. Consiglio went left and got a shot off past a diving Corns but her shot sailed just wide to the left.

Ursuline will now head to the road for three straight matches, starting with Thursday's (Sep. 19) Great Midwest Athletic Conference opener at Kentucky Wesleyan College. The match will start at 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.
