VIENNA, W. Va. –
Ursuline College junior forward Paige Rowan scored 39 seconds after Ohio Valley University tied the match to propel the Arrows to a 2-1 victory in Saturday's (Oct. 5) conference contest.

With the win, the Arrows improved to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while the Fighting Scots dipped to 2-5-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Ursuline took a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the match on sophomore forward Vanessa Consiglio's eighth goal of the season. Senior Amanda Levaskevich set up Consiglio's goal and helped her surpass last year's total of seven goals.

OVU evened the score at 1-1 on a penalty kick at the 59:04 mark but just 39 seconds later, Rowan scored her conference-leading 12th goal off a Consiglio pass to put the Arrows ahead for good. Rowan has been the beneficiary on all seven of Consiglio's assists this season.

After handling the bulk of the load in the last two shutouts, freshman goalie Helen Jazzar allowed just the one PK goal and made two saves to help her club to victory. Saturday was the second time this season (Marygrove on Sep. 26) that Jazzar was a penalty kick conversion away from picking up a shutout.

In their last three matches, the Arrows have outscored the opposition 11-1.

Ursuline will play five of its final six regular season matches at home, starting with Alderson Broaddus University on Thursday (Oct. 10). That match will start at 3:30 p.m. and will be covered with free live audio on the Ursuline College Sports Network.
