NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Ursuline College and Walsh University played to a 1-1 tie in Thursday (Oct. 17) night's non-conference match.

The Arrows are now 9-5-1 overall while the Cavaliers finished the day with a record of 3-8-2.

Ursuline took an early lead on sophomore Giuliana Pugliese's second goal of the year when she scored in the 31st minute off a cross from junior Anna Feitl. The Arrows took that 1-0 lead into the intermission despite being outshot 5-2 in the first period.

Walsh made a goalkeeper change at the break and switched from Michaella Stucky to Dani Shambaugh. Shambaugh made four saves in her 65 minutes of action and was in goal when Emily Durina scored the equalizer at 57:28. The goal was Durina's first of the year and it came off a pass up the right side from Rachel Rucker. The shot went over the outstretched arms of UC freshman goalkeeper Helen Jazzar and hit the bar before crossing the line.

The two teams went back and forth for the next 52 minutes and change but neither team could put another score on the board. Ursuline outshot Walsh 4-0 in the first overtime period and both teams took a pair of shots in the second OT.

In total, UC took 11 shots which was one more than the host.

Ursuline will return to conference play on Saturday (Oct. 19) with a home match against Cedarville University. The Lady Jackets lead the conference with an unblemished 7-0 record in conference play, including a 2-1 win over the Arrows back on Sep. 28.

Max Radigan will call Saturday's 1:00 p.m. match on the Ursuline College Sports Network.
