URBANA, Ohio – The Ursuline College soccer team lost to Travecca Nazarene University 1-0 on Saturday (Oct. 13) in a match that was played at Urbana Univeristy. The loss dropped the Arrows to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Trevecca Nazarene clinched the regular season G-MAC title with the victory and improved to 7-2-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference in the process.
The Trojans recorded the only goal of the match on Anna Hoffman’s fourth goal of the season which came on an assist from Becky Bartos. Ursuline never could answer against the TNU defense that has surrendered just one goal in its last nine matches.
Ursuline attempted five shots in the match but none were on goal while UC senior goalkeeper Rachael Smith was forced to make four saves to keep her team in the game.
The Arrows will now take a break from conference play as they head to Florida for five days. Ursuline will take on the Falcons of
Florida College at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 17) before a Friday (Oct. 19) night match at
Southeastern University.
When they return to Ohio, the Arrows will have three matches remaining on the regular season schedule, two of which will be held at home.
