For the second time this season, the Ursuline soccer team earned a shutout victory to improve to 3-2 on the season. The Arrows scored four times in the victory as all 23 available players saw the field in a game played in rain and mud.
Less than four minutes into the game
Amanda Levaskevich continued her red-hot start to the season with her fifth goal of the season, on a pass into the box from
Paige Rowan. 20 minutes later in the 24th minute, Levaskevich scored her sixth goal of the season, this time from
Jaimie Grindle.
Ursuline pretty much put the game out of reach three minutes later when Paige Rowan took a rebounded ball and drove it into the goal, giving the Arrows a 3-0 lead at halftime.
UC capped the scoring early in the second half, as
Cassie Fischer scored an unassisted goal just 1:20 into the second half. With a 4-0 lead, head coach Jason Kubbins took advantage of time to get quality minutes for his entire roster. 23 players played, including all three goalkeepers. All of the players on the team played at least 15 minutes, with an overwhelming majority playing more than 25 minutes of action.
Ursuline controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting Geneva 18-7. In fact with about 15:00 minutes to go in the game, the Arrows held the shooting advantage 17-2.
The Arrows will look to extend the small two-game winning streak they have going on Saturday, September 24 when they welcome Bethany. The game was originally scheduled for 2:30, but was moved to a 1:30 start time at the UC Soccer Field.
