Ursuline earns 4-0 win over Bethany and Improves to 8-2

The streaks have been extended after a 4-0 win over Bethany College on Thursday afternoon at The Laurel School Soccer Field. Ursuline has now won seven-straight game, six straight by shutout, and has not been scored on in over 625 minutes.

The Arrows (8-2) scored eight minutes into the game, as Amanda Levaskevich scored her team-leading tenth goal of the season, on a pass from Hillary Crookston. For Levaskevich it was her seventh goal in the winning streak, which also includes three assists.

UC held the 1-0 advantage at halftime, then quickly put the game away, scoring in the first two minutes of the second half. Jaimie Grindle took a tremendous header pass from Paige Rowan and ran with it about 30-yards before easily sliding the ball into the corner of the net. For Grindle, it was her fifth goal of the season and fourth in the last four games.

Just five minutes later, Ursuline extended the lead to 3-0 as Cassie Fischer found a deflected ball off of Grindle's shot in the box and simply walked the ball into the net with no goalkeeper to stop her.

UC concluded the scoring with just 20 seconds left in the game, as Cleo Bowers and a large grouping of players - both Ursuline and Bethany battled for a bouncing ball off of a corner kick. At least four players got a foot on the ball in the 20 second scramble, which ended up in the net and the goal was credited to Bowers, unassisted. The goal was Bowers second of the season.

Not to be overlooked was the job done defensively by the Arrows, and another shutout victory by goalkeeper Rachael Smith, who made two saves on six shots by Bethany. She now has five solo-shutout wins, and two shared.
