The Ursuline College Cross Country program announced the addition of Laura Rybka as part of the coaching staff for the 2019-20 school year.
Rybka joins the Ursuline staff after spending the last two seasons at the University of Akron as an Assistant Coach for Cross Country and Track. While with the Zips, she oversaw workouts, researched recruits and assisted the coaching staff in a variety of other duties.
Akron won the 2019 MAC Championship in Track & Field.
Rybka assisted in coaching Mackenzie Andrews, who was a National Qualifier in the 3000m and mile during indoor season and a 3000s and 1500m outdoor. She won the MAC Championship in the 3000m and the mile during the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Prior to Akron, she attended fellow Great Midwest member Malone University where she served as a volunteer coach during her undergrad for two seasons where she helped bringing in the largest recruiting class in seven years including two NCAA Division II All-Americans in Indoor Track in 2019.
The Arrows return six of their top runners from 2018 for the upcoming season after finishing with the highest finish at the conference meet in Coach Best’s tenure last November.
Ursuline will host the 2019 Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 26.
The 2019 Cross Country season will begin on Saturday, September 7 at the Doug Watts open hosted by Edinboro University.
