Johnstown, Pa. – After trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Ursuline College soccer team came from behind to defeat the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on a 2-1 count in a match that needed overtime to decide a winner.

Freshman Vanessa Consiglio found the back of the net 1:46 into the extra period to send the Arrows home a winner.

After two lightning delays, the host Lady Cats jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when Savanna Wingard beat UC goalkeeper Rachael Smith on a breakaway.

Sophomore Paige Rowan evened the score with her first goal of the season in the 49th minute when she put home a loose ball.

Neither team scored in the final 41:40 of regulation and the match was quickly ended on the first shot of overtime when Consiglio scored on an assist from junior Amanda Levaskevich.

Smith made five saves to earn her second victory of the season in goal.

After going on the road for two matches to start the season, Ursuline returns home for three straight home contests on campus. The Arrows begin their homestand with Walsh University next Saturday (Sept. 8) at 1:00 p.m.
